Summary has to bee amazing

In my reading group we have been learning how to summarise using 6 words. “What is summarising?” Summarising is a quick version of that story Relating all the topics but using your own words and making it shorter.
My reading group and I had to make a short story using words from a story so we basically recreated the story that we had just read. We picked 20 key words from the story we read and proceeded to get 6 important words from the 20 keywords.
Learning how to summarise was really interesting. It was hard at first but then I started to understand more about what we were doing. Definitely finding the keywords were the hardest part of this task
Do you know how to summarise?

My reading group used a book from a reading app called epic

  2. Ata mārie Mikaela,

Thank you for sharing your summary learning task with us. I learned some really interesting and fun facts about our amazing honeybees, like how there are over 2000 species (wow!) and that they communicate with one another by doing a 'bee dance'. Also, well done for sharing the fact about the danger that garden pesticides can pose to bees - this is very important for people to be aware of! Next time, I wonder if you could share the link to the full text in your blog post, in case your readers want to read more.

    Ngā mihi,
    Mrs Harrison
