We are learning how to apply Knowledge. 
“Why did you learn this?” To show that I understand the content, and can record my understanding in an interesting way. 

For this Specific task I read and collected information witch lead me to further research aspects that i was unsure of in support of my understanding and i also created an information slide
I enjoyed researching facts about my least favorite animal.

Summary has to bee amazing

 In my reading group we have been learning how to summarise using 6 words. “What is summarising?” Summarising is a quick version of that story Relating all the topics but using your own words and making it shorter.
My reading group and I had to make a short story using words from a story so we basically recreated the story that we had just read. We picked 20 key words from the story we read and proceeded to get 6 important words from the 20 keywords.
Learning how to summarise was really interesting. It was hard at first but then I started to understand more about what we were doing. Definitely finding the keywords were the hardest part of this task

For reading we have been learning all about japan and its culture. We used what we had learnt in my class and I each had individual slides and added what we had learned into those slides.
Once we chose what slides we wanted to do we deleted the rest. 4-6 slides we had to choose a subject such as, Food, Sports, animals. 
I really enjoyed learning about Japan and their culture. It was very interesting as well.

Olympic education

 For week one we were learning how to skim and scan. (Research) information. I learnt things about the Olympics that I have never known before. For our task my class had to read books regarding the topic olympics. (Skim and scan for important words) we then made a slideshow on the ancient olympics, mascots, opening ceremony and finally, just olympic facts. This task was honestly challenging. Finding the information was the hardest part for me.

Would you ever think about going to the Olympics when you're older?

The Water Rocket

I think that the rocket will shoot into the air because the air needs to escape. 

Have you ever heard of a aqua pod? 

A aqua pod is orange looking launch pad and is used to launch bottles in the air it also has three legs on the bottom and a flappy part theres string connected to the flappy part.

 First you fill up the bottle with about 1/3 of water you have to flip the aqua pod upside down so you can attatch the water bottle to a valve thats almost in the middle of the aqua pod 

secondly you have to connect the pump to another valve at the end of the aqua pod to pump air in the bottle you have to stand on the pump 8-12 times to fill the bottle of water with air as you add more pumps of air into the bottle, the air starts to compress and more and more particals start forming

Lastly pull the sting and the flappy part on the aqua pod will hit the thing that the bottle is attachted to and the bottle comes flying off it will go so high it disappeares out of sight

This Science expermement is a reccomend.

 

The Amazing Imagination Story

Week 2 Term 1, we got to use our imagination in writing, my group's focus was to describe using our senses. Our teacher Miss Hickling gave us an example on the Tv screen, it was of an island. We had to describe what we felt using that picture she had given us, but we couldn't use past tense. I definitely learnt a lot. Writing is good because it helps me with my grammar and spelling. Do you like writing?

Great day at the island

The smell of salty water calms me down.

The sparkling blue water is as clear as day. I watch the water slowly ripple and the breeze sway the vibrant trees.

I sat there as the birds chirp. The waves started crashing; it keeps getting heavier and heavier. 

I feel relaxed. I start walking towards the water, I dip my feet one by one into the dark blue ocean. It was freezing.

I looked back at the trees and I saw one fresh coconut. As I crack the coconut open, coconut water started pouring out. It was refreshing

Science Adventures

We have been trying to find out if oil would mix with water. Our student teacher Koka Kalo gave our class instructions on how to do the experiment. Before the class did the experiment we had to write what we thought was going to happen when we do the experiment. It was amusing to watch but I already knew what was gonna happen. Have you ever tried this experiment?
